M.Boyce, whose wife Roseanna, lives in Central Point.Mrs. Boyce said her
husband was killed 2 Mar (1968) by small arms fire while serving with
the Third Marines in Quang Tri Province. (The Oregonian, Portland OR,

Funeral Tuesday for Cpl. Boyce Funeral services for Marine Lance Cpl John Merton Boyce, 20, who died 2 Mar (1968) in Vietnam, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Memorial Chapel on the North Phoenix Road. The Rev. Richard Ralls of the Country Church on Table Rock Road will officiate. Committal will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Conger-Morris Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Military honors will be provided by the staff of the Inspector Instructor of B Company, 10th Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Corps Division, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Eugene. Cpl. Boyce was born 16 Oct 1947, in Portland, and had lived in Southern Oregon most of his life, graduating from Crater High School in 1966. He was married 12 Jan (1968) to Roseanna Sprinkle, who survivors........ Other survivors include a sister, Marian Atkinson, Newberg OR; his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Cranston, Central Point; three foster brothers, Marine Lance Cpl. James Cranston, Okinawa, Donald Cranston, Central Point, and Larry Cranston, Porterville CA; and a foster sister, Mrs. Bill Weddle, Medford.
